Kevin Sanderson-Doughty

Music Director

main staff

A life-long Presbyterian, Kevin has served as a Church Musician (organist, pianist, and/or choir director) since the Autumn of 2004 in locations ranging from rural New York State to Nashville, TN, to Richmond, VA. His approach to music in the church is a holistic one grounded in the belief that the diversity of music and musical traditions offers multiple ways to approach and to experience the worship of God. He firmly believes that, as Christians, we have an incredibly wide and deep well to draw from musically, both in terms of location (be it local or worldwide) and of time (ranging from millennia ago to today).

Kevin teaches music, band, choir, and drama at St. Cecilia School in Beaverton, OR. He and his wife Sarah (pastor of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Portland) have one child and a growing crop of exchange students.

An avid board gamer and an active composer, Kevin also enjoys hiking, cycling, and math.
